I actually bought this book for myself since it's one of my favorites from growing up. That being said, it's a great book for a child who is learning how to read. It's full of lots of detail and humor, but all of that is lost on small children who don't know how specific items can be grouped together. My nephews (4 and under) loved the illustrations, but had no interest in the story or the dialogue because it was above what they can understand. I would definitely recommend to a child who is able to group items together based on certain characteristics because it makes the experience that much better.

As a scientist and human, I find this book to be a humorous reflection of our daily experience in increasingly complex situations that we nonetheless can only experience as one person.
I loved Grover as a child. He and the Cookie monster were always my favorite as a child. I never understood the appeal of Elmo. When I finally had children I had to pass down my love of Grover to them. This book is perfect for anyone who loves Grover. Nearly as good as "A Monster at the end of this book"
My 1st grade teacher had this in her classroom and I love reading it to my son! Some words are large and bold to give lots of options teaching reading. Pics are vivid and proceed visually between pages (like when Grover falls into water) which always found trippy as a kid. Can be interactive like when Grover goes into the tickling room! )
Great book! In decent shape ("previously loved" is what I'd call it.) Purchased it for a colleague who had a child. One of my favs as a child! LOVE Grover, LOVE the detail in the drawings.
This book should absolutely be put pack into print. It is one of the best books out there for young children. Grover leads the children through a wonderful, laughter inducing voyage through the museum and the ending leaves us all smiling. Great from start to finish. A joy for both the reader and audience!
Grover's lovable personality was diminished in this book. The were many things to identify and my 5 yo granddaughter was engaged the first few times it was read then lost interest.
